How to pair your WESECUU camera over Wi-Fi
A step-by-step guide to adding a WESECUU camera in the Truisee(wesecuu) app, scanning the QR code, and connecting to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi the first time.
Pairing a WESECUU camera takes only a few minutes once you know the steps. The most important thing to remember: WESECUU cameras connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, not 5GHz. Getting that right avoids most setup failures.
Before you start
- Power on the camera and place it near your router during setup.
- Make sure your phone is connected to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band.
- Have your Wi-Fi password ready.
- If you are signed out, create an account and sign in first.
Pair the camera
- Open the Truisee(wesecuu) app and tap the + (Add device) button.
- Choose to add a camera and follow the on-screen prompts.
- When asked, scan the QR code on the body or base of your camera. This identifies the exact model.
- Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password carefully.
- The app generates a QR code on your phone screen. Hold it about 8–12 inches in front of the camera lens until the camera beeps or confirms it has read the code. Some models use Bluetooth to assist this step instead.
- Wait while the camera connects. The camera will say or show "search device" while it joins your network.
- When it succeeds, name your camera and finish.
Why 2.4GHz matters
Many routers broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz under the same network name. The camera only supports 2.4GHz, so if your phone happened to join the 5GHz band, pairing can fail silently. If you are unsure, log in to your router and temporarily separate the two bands, or look for a network name ending in something like "-2.4G".
If pairing fails
Work through these one at a time:
- Confirm the band. Reconnect your phone to the 2.4GHz network and retry.
- Re-check the Wi-Fi password. A single wrong character is the most common cause.
- Move closer to the router. Thick walls weaken the signal during setup.
- Power-cycle the camera. Unplug it, wait ten seconds, plug it back in, and start over.
- Reset the camera to factory defaults (hold the reset button until it confirms) if it was previously paired to another account.
Next steps
Once your camera is online, set up motion detection and push alerts so you are notified when something happens, and review playback and storage to keep recordings. If the camera shows offline later, see fixing an offline camera.
